Is your school’s athletic excellence left to chance?

Integrated Athletic Solutions partners with school leaders to examine the true mission and vision of the athletic program to ensure that it reflects the school’s overall commitment to strategic excellence.

IAS will partner with you

Our work provides you with the means to lead an athletic department that is influential within the school setting, to raise the expectations for coaches to include both teaching and mentoring, and in so doing to serve student athletes by motivating them to give their very best.

Our focus is to help guide your mission for athletics.

We’ll listen as you define your vision for athletics and then create an operational design and strategic plan for your program, also ensuring the desired and intended impact for your Athletic Director and staff.  The result will be something your entire community can be proud of and all stakeholders will participate in.  After all, a truly excellent athletic program engages the entire school community!

In the arena of school athletics, vision is often overlooked. Indeed, the largest and most visible department in a school is often the most neglected, as schools and those overseeing them place too little emphasis on creating a unified vision.

Enter Integrated Athletic Solutions (IAS)

Under the direction of long-time school administrator Steve Heintz, IAS ensures that Athletic Directors and school leadership partner with an experienced resource to create the proper governing vision for the school’s athletic program. We acknowledge that school leaders have the most intimate understanding of the school’s individual culture, so the process is designed to most effectively align with and reflect the existing school community. Based on years of creating mission, vision, strategy and realistic action plans, Integrated Athletic Solutions assists school athletic programs to develop the necessary strategies to become excellent in each area of operation.

What Others Say About Steve Heintz . . .

Steve is one of the two best coaches I ever saw close up.  He makes the sport fun in a serious way.  An excellent instructor, he is the very best at explaining and demonstrating how to do a sequence of actions.  I have seen him make competent basketball players out of boys with minimal ability and (in my opinion) little potential.  I think this carries over broadly to the world of education.  He brings out the best in people, not just high achievers.  Steve is competitive; he is not content to just go along and maintain the status quo. As Athletic Director, responsible for 30-40 coaches, Steve was highly effective.  He made the coaching staff his “team”.  He had all the responsibility of a principal; hiring, evaluating, supervising, correcting, and coaching them to success.  He worked very effectively with the sports boosters, increasing their loyalty and support while deftly steering them to projects that were consistent with school values and priorities.

Mr. Heintz is one of the best leaders of people I have encountered.  He is able to speak to virtually anyone on their level, bringing out the best in people and helping those around him see possibilities which may be otherwise remain hidden.
Mr. Heintz cares for all people and desires that parents, colleagues, and students become their best.  He doesn’t cut corners in his pursuit of excellence.  Rather he takes a team approach, recognizing that no one individual is ever at his or her best without being in step with the greater group’s goal(s).

Headmaster, Covenant Day School, Charlotte, NC

I can say without reservation that, in my thirty six years as an educator and coach, Mr. Heintz is one of the finest Athletic Directors it has been my pleasure to work with. He understands teaching and learning and how theory and practice relate to athletics. He knows how to evaluate and develop coaches.  He balances compassionate direction with a sense of purpose that his athletes, and coaches, respond to with remarkable success.  Being a veteran coach, I was impressed with his body of work and the ways he helped all of us grow as coaches, educators and people in general. His exceptional ability was known throughout the school community, which helped create a culture of excellence at Westminster.
